11/1/2005:   DOT has posted their meeting schedule for the 28th Session. The pre-UN meeting will be from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm on 11/16/2005 in room 6244. The post-UN meeting will be from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm on 7/20/2005 in rooms 6200-6204. Click here to read the notice.

8/25/2005:   In the Reports Section:  

  • Updated the IME/SAAMI post-meeting report to include links to the recently received IGUS/EPP (a) draft minutes, (b) final version of that meeting agenda, and (c) list of participants.  The meeting agenda includes links to applicable presentation documents; however, access to the presentation documents requires a CD.  Interested members may obtain a copy of the CD from David Boston or Lon Santis.

  • Added a link to the list of participants to the July TDG Sub-committee meeting.

  • Added a link to the list of participants to the July GHS Sub-committee meeting.

  • Set up a new section for the December 2005 TDG and GHS Sub-committee meetings.  Added a link for the December 2005 GHS Sub-committee Agenda to the new section.

7/29/2005:   In the Reports Section:  Added a link to the UN GHS Sub-committee report.  A review of this report reveals only one Class 1-related issue for which a decision was taken.  This issue involved updating of the table for Test Series 8 (UN3375), similar to and as requested by the TDG Sub-committee.

6/6/2005:   Meeting Calendar:  updated the agenda and added a list of participants for the Chief Inspectors of Explosives Conference.

6/1/2005:   In the Reports Section: added (to the Class 1-Related Document Summary) an analysis of a Norwegian proposal (2005/24) to align the requirements of para. 10.4.3.3 of the Test Manual with those of para. 16.3.1 of the Test Manual (consistently requiring CA approval of explosives).  Updated the IME/SAAMI position on 2005/10 from "to be determined" to "no position" based on lack of comments on this document. 

Added a section providing links to session documents available on the UN website.

Added links to the IME/SAAMI pre-meeting reports (available in MSWord and PDF formats).

GHS:  There are currently 4 documents available for discussion at the GHS sub-committee meeting to be held in Geneva on 11-13 July 2005.  None of these documents discuss Class 1-related issues.  There are also 3 INF papers currently available, none of which discuss Class 1-related issues.  See the Reports Section for access to these documents.

4/22/2005:   In the Reports Section:  added (to the Class 1-Related Document Summary) an analysis of a Canadian proposal (2005/22) to add a 4th test to the UN Test Series 6 for additional evaluation of 1.4S candidates.  

In addition to 2005/22, the following summaries are now available for review:

2005/9 -- a proposal (UK) to add UN3375 products to the "Indicative list of high consequence dangerous goods" in the Security Provisions chapter of the Model Regulations
2005/10 -- a proposal (ICCA) to authorize transport of UN1336 (Nitroguanidine, wetted) in flexible IBCs with Competent Authority approval
2005/11 -- a proposal (Spain) to replace the 8(d) Vented Pipe Test with a form of the Modified Vented Pipe Test developed in Australia
2005/14 -- a proposal (UK) to modify the flow chart in figure 10.4 of the Test Manual to indicate that ANEs failing the 8(c) Koenen test may be either 1.1 or 1.5 explosives
