10/11/2006:  Reports page:   Added a link to the UN report for the IME Annual Meeting.  This report will be presented at this month's consolidated committee meeting and at the Board of Governors meeting.

10/2/2006:  Reports page:   Added a section for the December UN sub-committee and committee sessions.   This session marks the end of the current UN biennium and there will be a final meeting of the TDG and GHS sub-committees as well as the biennial meeting of the TDG/GHS committee to review and approve the work of the two sub-committees.  The December 06 section includes links for committee and sub-committee agendas, the IME document review, links to UN documents available on the UN website, and meeting reports (currently, there are no meeting reports available).

7/25/2006:    The CEFIC proposal to the GHS sub-committee to add the bomb-burst to division 1.5 and 1.6 GHS labels was withdrawn.  See the Class 1-related document summary or the IME post-meeting report for details.

6/27/2006:    Updated the Class 1-related document summary.  The USA has published its opposition (INF.29) to Canada's proposal (2006/62) for a new test to evaluate 1.4S candidates.

6/26/2006:    Updated the Reports page as follows:

• Updated the Class 1-related document summary.  Added information on INF/22 which provides Test Series 6 results in support of Germany's proposal for new entries for HOBt.  Based upon the test results, Germany is modifying its proposal to create 2 entries for HOBt, one in Division 1.3C and the other in Division 4.1

• Added a link to the USA's Summary of Proposals and Draft US Positions paper distributed at the pre-UN public meeting held at DOT on 6/21/06.

6/15/2006:  Updated the Class 1-related document summary taking into account discussions at the IME Spring Meeting and with DGAC:

• Updated discussion on Canada's proposal for a new 1.4S test

• Added discussion on IME concerns about discrepancies in 8(d) test

• Updated discussion on SAAMI's proposal to modify GHS pictogram for some 1.4S articles

• Added discussion of CEFIC's proposal to require the bomb-burst as the GHS pictogram from 1.5 and 1.6 items

5/26/2006:  Updated the Reports page.  Added a link to the presentation on perforator fragment hazards (perforating guns) to be presented by Jean-Luc Arpin of NR Canada at next week's IGUS/EPP meeting in Nanjing.

5/11/2006:  Updated the Reports page:

• Class 1-related document summary:  Updated the discussion on Canada's proposal (2006/62) for a 6(d) test that would be used to exclude certain articles from Division 1.4S.  

  • Expanded the "IME Issues" section of this discussion to include comments on paragraphs 1, 6, and 8 of 2006/62.  

  • Minor revision to the discussion on paragraph 11 in the "IME Issues" section

  • Revised proposed IME position to "Oppose"

  These revisions are consistent with on-going discussions with the USA delegation on this topic.

  • Added a section for the July UN sub-committee sessions

  • Posted the Class 1-related document summary.  This summary currently discusses only 1 Class 1-related document, 2006/7 regarding a proposal by Norway to list additional example UN numbers in para. 7.1.3.2.3, which authorizes transport of certain explosives with goods in other dangerous goods classes.
